Most people are familiar with certain aspects of the curtains off. Those are curtains that make the room exceptionally dark. For some houses that want to cheer their rooms, there are treatments for windows that allow a lot of light through and around the curtains. But some people need to block as much light as possible. This may be due to the fact that they are light sleeping and do not want the morning sky to wake them up too early. Or they can shift workers who need to sleep during the day. Another possibility is that they have children who take a nap or that they should be in bed while the sun is still raised. Finally, people in cities use them to block street lights and traffic lights.

While these uses are commonly known, there is another benefit of the blackout curtains that many people do not think of. Due to the way curtains are made, they are dense and heavier than regular curtains. Some even have a rubber lining on the window side. These are excellent light blockers, but they also block heat.
