WAYS TO AVOID IMPULSE SHOPPING

People always find themselves buying stuff spontaneously without prior planning. Sometimes it’s because they found a good deal or discount, other times it’s just out of sheer desire to own something new. Some of the ways to avoid impulse buying include:

  • PAYING CASH

Limiting your shopping to the cash you have, helps in controlling the number of items you buy. This is not the case when you’re using a credit card as it takes time to max out. It’s also harder to part with cold hard cash thus you’re in full control.

  • SET OUT A WAITING PERIOD

This means that you only shop at intervals such as monthly or twice a month. This is a good thing as it gives you time to look up stuff,  like you could get details of used Chevrolet Beat in Bangalore online before going to buy. Shopping less often ensures you’re not over indulging and keeps you in check.

  • EARN THE TREATS

Another way to ensure you still get nice stuff even on your budget is to treat them as treats that you earn after the hard work you’ve endured. This way unless you’ve earned it, you won’t be getting any new stuff till the next scheduled shopping.

  • MINIMIZE ONLINE SHOPPING

Online shopping is great, convenient and easy but it’s also an easy trap to impulse buying. The fact that its 24/7 available means that you can impulse shop anytime with minimal control.  It’s important to deter from the urge to online shop every time things are on sale or there’s something new in the market.

  • DECLUTTER PRIOR SHOPPING

This makes it easy for you to throw away stuff you don’t need and counter check the items you have before buying the same item twice. It also gives you hard time to part with possessions thus eliminating the need to throw away good stuff.
