Did you know that the first Asian-African Conference was held in Bandung? It was held on April 24, 1955. Since then, the Bandung Conference has become the popular term for this event.

Bandung Conference

As history reveals, the end of World War II became the start of the cold war between Russia and the USA. The combating dominance between these two countries pushed other countries to pick sides. Twenty-nine states from Africa and Asia joined the seminar. They unanimously stated to be a block that was the third in the world, called Non-Aligned. They agreed on the international ethos known as the Spirit of Bandung. They declared Dasa Sila Bandung (the Six Principles of Bandung). It is a commitment between the members to remain in peace and to practice tolerance.

Over time we found the conclusion of the war and the downfall of the federation. Still, the Non-Aligned block became more crucial than ever before. It’s a result of the substantial PDB of these Asian African countries, and two-thirds of world inhabitants resided here.

So in 2005, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of African American Convention. The result was to renew The Spirit of Bandung and also to create the New Asian African Strategic Partnership. It centred on underdevelopment and poverty, which have been regarded as major problems in Africa and Asia. The latest Asian African Convention was held on April 19-24, 2015. The theme for this conference has been “Strengthening South-South Cooperation to Promote World Peace and Prosperity”. The three outcomes of the seminar were the Bandung Message, a record to energize NAASP, along with a statement of support.

Asian African Museum

The first Asian African Conference was held in Bandung, in a building called Gedung Merdeka (Freedom Hall). Subsequently, on April 24, 1980, through the 25th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, Gedung Merdeka became the African Museum. The screens of this museum are primarily related to the convention, such as country profiles of the members of Bandung Conference photos through the agreements and diorama about the very first African Conference’s launching. This museum is under the umbrella of Foreign Ministry. Therefore it’s an audiovisual room and a library where we can know about the history, social, cultures and politics of African and Asian nations, as well as documents on the conference.

Considering the history, every time there’s an Asian African Conference commemoration, some aspect of the event would regularly be hauled in Gedung Merdeka Bandung. The primary Asian African Seminar started the Bandung Walks. It was a brief stroll from Savoy Homann Hotel into Gedung Merdeka. The ceremony proceeds by the President of Indonesia to the opening speech.

Now, Jalan Asia Afrika Bandung looks more beautiful with all the summit’s decoration, such as the world form of the Asian-African Solidarity Monument, the Six Principles of Bandung Monument, and the stone bottoms on the sidewalk. Every rock sphere is sculpted using the titles of manhood and tiny flags. Shoot pictures before sunset, and many people love to stroll along this road until they reach the city square. By using outdoor and indoor exhibits, the Asian African Museum has outdone itself.

New Zealand consists of an estimated 600 large number of islands. Its bodies of land are mountainous and have active volcanoes primarily in the central north island. The country’s nearest neighbor is southeast Australia, and that is around 1,000 miles away. This country embodies two main islands- the North and South Islands.

New Zealand’s volcanoes, caves, glacier lakes, valleys, fjords, beaches, and snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps all contribute to this country’s magnificent sceneries famous for all kinds of travelers.

The country’s isolation from the mainland results from a unique array of vegetation and vast animal life.

Whenever you travel such a country, massive with natural sites, you are probably going to start looking for network service using a local NZ sim card for communication purposes. Travel sim cards offer affordable internet bundles. You will never worry again about international roaming charging you 90% high. So, what can this sim card provide you anyway besides saving up travel money?

3 Reasons Why Travel Sim Cards Saves A Lot of Trouble When Visiting New Zealand

  1. It saves a lot of time.

Traveling to places new to you is not as easy as it may seem. Commuting from one place to another is different, especially if this is not your home country. Also, it is pretty challenging to navigate through a sea of tourists without the benefits of mobile data of a travel sim card. By getting your travel sim card before your departure, you can skip the tedious step of asking locales where to buy a local NZ sim card. You can immediately connect to your network, save time, and start your trip right.

  1. Travel sim cards help you stay connected in distant places in NZ.

Travelers differ from the purpose of why they are traveling. Some travel to do some soul searching, and some simply want to immerse themselves in a foreign culture. However, it is better not to get lost or at least know the place where you are, especially if you do not speak their native language.

You can calm your mind by having an NZ sim card to connect you to the internet and navigate in case you lost your way back at your hotel. This mobile sim also proves beneficial even in remote places; it keeps you connected in local networks.

  1. It keeps you updated on the essential things that matter to you.

Whether it be updating your social media or calling your family immediately to tell them that you landed in New Zealand safely, you cannot do it without a fast and reliable network connection.

Most people, especially influencers, would want to stay connected on the internet as often as possible. Sometimes free WIFI in cafes or public transportation will not suffice. It is best to have your mobile connectivity for a secured internet connection.

Why buy a travel sim card instead of a prepaid card when traveling NZ?

Travel sim cards come with packages that include mobile data and unlimited calls or text abroad at a certain time. You can easily activate it once you land in New Zealand. Purchasing for one has its limitations depending on your chosen availability (3 days, 15 days, or 30 days). Travelers prefer travel sim cards compared to buying prepaid local sim since you will only stay for a short while, and there is no point in availing local sim cards.

If you visit New Zealand this coming holiday, you should get your NZ sim card. Not only it ensures peace of mind wherever you are in this vast country, but it also keeps you connected to your friends, family, and social media.

Travelling will become extra exciting when pet parents bring their beloved furry friend with them during the trip. It will take their mind off from worrying too much about leaving their pet at someone else’s home or at a pet care facility for a few days while they are away. So if you find an opportunity to bring your dog during an upcoming trip, you need to ensure you have all the travel essentials to make it a memorable trip for you and your precious pet. Know that it is in your hand to make the journey comfortable for your pet, especially your dogs. So you can buy dog toys online to add to other accessories and necessities you’ll be needing for your dog.

Before hitting the road with your four-legged travel companion, Here are some of the things and other important stuff to order from your reliable online pet store.

Prepare Dog Food And Treats

While trying out the local delicacies is one of the most exciting parts of any trip, it would not be the same for your pet. They may have a hard time adjusting to a new taste. Feeding them a new dish that is not part of their regular diet may even cause an upset stomach.

To ensure that your dog will remain well fed during the trip, you need to pack up enough Can Dogs Eat Shrimp for  the duration of your adventure. You can bring their favourite kibble or prepare their usual wet food in spill-proof containers. It would also help to stock up on your dog’s preferred treats so you can have something to give to encourage them to behave while on the way to your destination.

Bring Collars, Tags, And Leash

Dogs are naturally curious. They tend to become overly excited when going to a place that they have never been before due to the new smells and terrain that could overwhelm them. So even if you are used to letting them off the leash in your neighbourhood, you must keep them tied with you at all times, especially during roadside breaks.

It will prevent them from running off to explore the new terrain without you. You may also bring an extra leash so you can have a replacement when needed. It is also important to have them wear their collars with tags labelled with your name and contact details.

First Aid Kits

Accidents during a trip may happen at any time. Bumps, scratches, or bruises might happen along the way. So always make it a point to prepare a first aid kit containing essential items for you and your dog each time you embark on a journey.

You may visit your reliable online pet store to buy everything that you need for your furbaby. They would need a styptic powder to stop any bleeding, an anti-itch medicated spray, and a wound disinfectant gel in their first aid kit. You may also purchase a complete dog first aid kit containing bandages and antiseptic wipes before you leave.

Pack Your Dog’s Vaccination Records

Even if you booked a pet-friendly accommodation for you and your furry pal, you still need to keep the dog’s vaccination on hand. Most establishments would ask for the updated vaccination records before they allow anyone to bring in their pet inside their place. It is also a crucial requirement if you need to cross international borders or if you have to board your pet in a new kennel.

Aside from these items, always bring your dog’s cherished toys to keep them comfortable during the trip. It would help to calm their nerves as they deal with their new environment. Also, always make it a point to drop by your veterinarian to make sure that your pet is healthy enough to go on a fun adventure in a new place.

Take a look at these tips to help you get your ski and snowboard ready for your next trip to the slopes.

As the new ski season approaches you are likely to be thinking about all that fresh powder, mountain fresh air, apres ski and plenty of good times ahead. However, it is really important to make sure all your gear is ready for your trip. This not only stops you having to pay through the nose for expensive replacements in the ski village, but it also helps to keep you safe, avoiding the use of faulty equipment.

Here are our top tips to help you get your ski and snowboard equipment ready for the slopes:

Head To Self Storage Well Ahead Of Time

You should be checking your gear well in advance of your trip, whether that means going to your cheap self storage unit (find out about storage unit prices here), or having a rummage in the garage. The more time you have to correct any issues and make any replacements the better.

Check For Any Degrading

No matter how much you prepare your things for storage by storing.com, they can degrade over time. Check for rust, rotting and any issues that have occured during storing. You should challenge any materials, clips and attachments as much as they would be challenged during use, to highlight any new weakness or damage.

Check All Safety Features In Detail

Any safety features on your gear should be checked in detail as those are the parts made specifically to keep you safe. If you suspect there are any issues at all get your gear looked at, as it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Sort Out Any Protection Placed For Storage

If you placed wax on your skis for storage you will need to remove it. The same goes for any other protection placed specifically for storage.

Air Everything Out

Maybe it was that rancid sock, or that sweaty balaclava, but something has definitely stunk out your gear whilst it was in cheap self storage. Make sure you air it all out well so you don’t have to carry that stink with you into the mountains.

Replace And Repair

If there are any problems that require replacing or repairing, get them done as soon as possible. Rushing ski purchases is never ideal, especially when you have to do it in an expensive ski village that preys on impulse buys and visitors who forgot to buy at home.

The above are really good ways to prepare your ski and snowboard equipment ready for the new season. If you put the effort into storing them well then the gear is likely to be in good condition. However, for your wallet and your safety, it always makes sense to check everything in detail before using it in a live slope setting. Be vigilant, check absolutely everything, and then get ready to go and have a ton of fun in the powder!

Kawah Putih is located close to the charming Market city of Ciwidey, roughly 50 km south of Bandung. The crater’s lake is one of two craters on Mount Patuha, with the other one dry Kawah Patuha. The Patuha Crater situated 600 meters to its northwest, being the other. Stepping into Kawah Putih is like entering another realm. As the name implies the crater lake and its surroundings are dominated by pale white color which radiates a somewhat hypnotizing atmosphere. The vast, dormant volcanic crater is full of surreal turquoise colored water.

The cliffs surrounding the crater reach around 2,500 meters above sea level and also make for a stunning backdrop when the clouds begin to roll in. The height here has low temperature, and it adds to the magical splendor of Kawah Putih. During World War II, the plant was taken over by the Japanese military and was worked under the name of Kawah Putih Kenzanka Yokoya Ciwidey. Today the plant no longer exists entry points to its tunnels, remnants of those mining tasks can still be seen in some spots around the present site.

First opened for visitors in 1987, now Kawah Putih is a favored place to go for tourists and day trippers who’re stunned by its mesmerizing ambiance. On weekends and on vacations, a vast number of visitors frequently visit the region only to dip themselves in the mystic beauty of character.

Kawah Putih is located about 44 km south of the middle of Bandung City. Based on the visitors in and about Bandung, the trip is going to take a bit over 2 hours. The main road is a busy road south of Bandung. Throughout the city of Soreang, capital of the Bandung Regency, continuing down to the town of Ciwidey.

The turn-about from the main Kawah Putih Road is difficult to miss: there’s a signboard on the left of the main road and a notable entry gate. Should you want to use public transport, you have first to find your way to the Leuwipanjang bus station and after that take the bus in the direction of Ciwidey. From Ciwidey, you may take the angkot minibus to the entry of Kawah Putih. Once in the Kawah Putih entry, it’s a long trek uphill to the crater, but you will not see much trying to walk this. Usually, the visitors leave their vehicles at the main carpark in the entry gate to the site and catch one of the regular shuttle buses to the 5 km up into the crater.

If you are having a trip to Yogyakarta, make sure not to miss trying these signature dishes that you can only find the original in Yogyakarta.

Gudeg — Gudeg Pawon

As Nasi Lemak would be to Malaysia, the signature dish for Yogyakarta is Gudeg. Gudeg is made from jackfruit which is stewed for hours along with spices such as coriander and garlic, served on a banana leaf or a platter. Tempeh and tasty coconut-flavored chicken can also be part of the meal. At Gudeg Pawon, you get to eat in a local’s house. The gudeg is usually sold out around 11 pm. You’ ll lineup from the road but a couple of steps later you’ll be right inside the kitchen! It’s burning hot in there, but the smell of the boiling broth and rice will keep you going!

In there, the Gudeg is made traditionally. No electric stove or modern technologies but only wood and charcoal. Once you get your order, you will find yourself sharing a seat with locals on the bench outside.

Ayam Ingkung — Ingkung Kuali

Ingkung Kuali is famous among tourists because of its free-range chicken, and you can actually taste the freshness of the poultry! This local eatery can be found in Pajangan — commonly known as the culinary center of Yogyakarta, which means you know that you could have high expectations about the flavor!

While it’s possible to choose to do it by sitting on the ground in lesehan style, you can even go for the huts with extended comfy benches! Choose between the original boiled chicken or marinated or fried chicken — though it looks plain and simple when served, the dish will surprise you in taste and flavors as it’s been mixed, marinated and cooked for more than 4 hours, hence the chicken would have soaked up all of the spices.

Mangut Lele — Mangut Lele Mbah Narto

This has to be among the most hidden eatery in Yogyakarta. If you get lost, don’t worry to find your way because everybody in the neighborhood understands you are here for Mangut Lele Mbah Marto!

Something very admirable about food sellers in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta, is that they want you to feel at home once you come in to dine — they’re so welcoming that they let you to the privacy of the house. Come and serve yourself from the kitchen. The walls are covered with black spots due to the charcoal.

At Mbah Narto, you’re here for some spicy smoked catfish! And when we say hot… brace yourself! You’ll want water and probably milk too. Don’t miss out on their boiled egg with a creamy textured yolk — you will go for a second round! And if you are fortunate enough you will be served by Mbah Marto — this woman is the one behind this secret recipe!

Sate Klathak — Sate Klathak Pak Bari

Known among the classics dish from Indonesia, Satay is available basically everywhere. It would be hard to decide for the best satay, but those in Sate Klatak Pak Bari are worth a trip. Scoop out a number of their special gravy on top! You may taste the meat for the marinade. The satay stall has appeared at an Indonesian movie ‘Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2’ and has been crowded with many costumers!
